We saw this coming, but didn't want to believe it
Valkyrie Profile fans have had quite the week. Monday saw a teaser site for Valkyrie Anatomia: The Origin go up with a spring 2016 distribution window for Japan. Yesterday, producer Yoshinori Yamagishi announced a new trailer would be coming today and confirmed that Anatomia is a prequel to the original Valkyrie Profile for the PlayStation. The promised trailer has arrived, bringing with it the unfortunate news that Valkyrie Anatomia: The Origin will in fact be a mobile title.
Pieces of the story are presumably teased through dialogue, but my knowledge of Japanese is scarce so I'm not the one to ask for a translation. At least now we know that Valkyrie Anatomia will be coming to iOS and Android, but there are still a number of questions left unanswered. We still don't know if Square Enix plans to bring the game to the west, nor do we know what sort of challenges await Lenneth in her new mobile adventure.
Valkyrie Anatomia: The Origin is scheduled to find its way to Japanese phones and tablets through the App and Google Play Stores sometime this spring. Western fans of Valkyrie Profile will have to continue waiting patiently for any word of the game possibly being localized, as Square Enix hasn't addressed that concern as of yet.
