Nintendo taking five upcoming titles to PAX East, Metroid Prime: Federation Force launches August 19

Boston gets its first look this weekend

PAX East is this weekend, meaning gamers in the Boston area will be able to get some hands on time with new, upcoming releases. We've already reported on one confirmed title in SEVEN: The Days Long Gone being playable at the event, but it's far from the only one. Nintendo announced that they'll be taking demos for not one, not two, but five of their upcoming games to PAX East. Among those is Metroid Prime: Federation Force, which has also received a release date of August 19 for North America. All five of the planned titles were talked about during last month's Nintendo Direct, so additional showings should come as no surprise.

The five games Nintendo is taking are Star Fox Zero, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, Kirby: Planet Robobot, Monster Hunter Generations, and Metroid Prime: Federation Force. This will be the first time the latter four titles have been playable in public, giving Nintendo fans in the Boston area some hands on time before anyone else. While hyping up the various playable titles, Nintendo also happened to sneak in a release date for Metroid Prime: Federation Force that was almost glossed over entirely. North American Metroid fans will be able to combat space pirates with their friends this August.

European gamers, meanwhile, will have to wait a little longer before Metroid Prime: Federation Force launches on September 2. While Metroid fans debate whether or not Federation Force is worthy of the Metroid Prime label, Kirby fans can stop by Nintendo's PAX East booth for pictures with Dream Land's lovable hero. If that's not enough to make you want to stop by PAX East, developers from Square Enix will be on hand to participate in a Bravely Second: End Layer panel on April 24 from 1 to 2 PM Eastern. If you happen to be in the Boston area this weekend, Nintendo's got a great lineup in store so try to make time to head over to PAX East at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.
