Warner Bros. is expected to announced a HD remaster collection today, but it won’t contain Batman: Arkham Origins.
The only thing surprising about an HD collection of the pre-Arkham Knight Batman games is that it’s not happened any sooner. But according to a leaked memo from a GameStop employee it’ll be out on June 10.
The image below was sent to website Eurogamer, and as you can see includes the original game Arkham Asylum and sequel Arkham City.
What it doesn’t contain though is prequel Arkham Origins, which was developed by Warner Bros. Games Montréal rather than series creators Rocksteady.
Arkham Origins was very similar to Arkham City, but competently made and arguably better than Arkham Knight. Rocksteady though has always seemed to resent its existence, ignoring it as much as possible and pointedly referring to Arkham Knight as the final part of a trilogy.
We’ll update this story if and when the collection is officially announced, but as you can see it’s expected to include all previously released DLC and character skins.
What’s next for Batman is still unclear and it’s not known whether Rocksteady will continue to work with DC comics characters in the future. Warner has very few games on their slate at the moment though, so new announcements are widely expected at or near E3 in June.
