Send Jos to Vienna to become a DanceWeb Scholar this summer

I'm an interdisciplinary artist working in performance, dance and visual arts.

I've been dancing in Los Angeles for 13 years. This summer I've been chosen to attend the 2016 ImPulsTanz International Dance Festival in Vienna, Austria.

Out of over 1,000 applicants I've been selected to attend as a DanceWeb Scholar,a highly selective international scholarship that provides artists with a summer of intensive study during the ImPulsTanz Dance Festival.

If I don't raise all the money by June 1st, I will not be able to attend the festival.

Out of over 1000 applications from over 40 countries I was selected and now I am 1 of 2 from Los Angeles in the festivals 20-year history !¡!¡

Impulstanz is an annual dance festival in Vienna, Austria with 26,000+ attendees, hundreds of workshops, performances and lectures.  The largest gathering of its kind. The program "focuses on the exchange of ideas and knowledge, not limited by national borders, on concentrated further training, on meeting with internationally renowned artists gathering at ImPulsTanz with the aim to orient the career of the participants"

The danceWEB scholarship provides its students with a rigorous, immersive course of study in conjunction with the ImPulsTanz festival. ImPulsTanz is an internationally renowned, dynamic hub of contemporary dance that draws the best teachers and choreographers from across the world, making it the ideal place to train and shape young dancers and choreographers. Every year the selected "danceWEBBERS" form an intimate, international peer-group who together take part in loads of classes, workshops, research projects and performances. Here's exactly what the scholarship provides:

The scholarship specifically states that in order to receive the scholarship I have to raise a 1/3 of the funds by June 1st. If I don't raise the money by June 1st the offer to attend will be rescinded...... :-(

The scholarship covers room and board and many hours of training, consultation and mentorship. It doesn’t cover travel, visas or expenses. I’m asking my friends, peers, and strangers to help me reach my goal.  I need $4,500-  $2,500 to cover my third of the scholarship $1,000 to cover travel $1,000 to cover Visas, insurance and other fees.

ImPulsTanz is an intensive training period created to further the careers of it's participants by working with some of the world's premier talent.  The five-week period of the festival will be filled with study, training and being fully immersed in the European Dance World.

While living in Los Angeles I've frequently worked with choreographers and artists visiting from Europe. Last year this extended into a small tour and residency in France. I'm hoping that this will begin to build a greater exchange between the Los Angeles and European dance communities.

The list of "dance-webbers" to have gone through this program includes some of my favorite choreographers and performers and I'm super humbled to be amongst them.  Now I'm asking you to help me transition this period and attend this program through your investment.
