Watch as I take it all away from you
When Mafia III was first announced just before Gamescom last year, fans of the franchise were excited. The reveal trailer that followed at 2K's Gamescom show revealed a 2016 release date and confirmed Vito's involvement in 1968 New Orleans. Since the reveal trailer, Hangar 13 and 2K have been pretty quiet about the mob and their activities. Whether it's because there hasn't been anything to share or because Vito's kidnapped family members of Hangar 13 employees remains to be seen, but all seems to be well now that the first story trailer for Mafia III has surfaced. New Orleans has found itself renamed to New Bordeaux, but that doesn't make it any less dangerous for Lincoln Clay or anyone else. Today's new trailer also reveals an October 7 release date, giving Mafia fans a lot to look forward to.
The trailer wastes no time in reminding us that it's a one way road from here to New Bordeaux. The mob is alive and well, even in the Big Easy, as those who stand against Vito and the Mafia find themselves wishing they hadn't. Lincoln Clay tried to take on the mob, but somehow has managed to live to tell the tale for now. Being an African American Vietnam veteran on its own is a combination just asking for trouble in New Bordeaux, but having the mob after you escalates things to a whole new level.
Lincoln will find out quickly that family isn't who you're born with, but who you're willing to die for. Mafia III will put Lincoln Clay's fate in your hands when it releases for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 7, 2016.
