Gigantic is still very much alive - Motiga prepare for the future

Back in February this year, development of Motiga’s shooter/MOBA Gigantic had stalled and the future of the  game was uncertain. So much so in fact that Motiga even stated they intended “to continue supporting Gigantic game services for as long as we are able”.

Gigantic is a Windows 10 and Xbox release, and being a Windows 10 title probably hasn’t helped in all the months they had been testing up until that point. Even though the game had been in testing for many months, there was still work to be done. In February Motiga stated, “We still have a lot of work to do to polish the experience for the player.” Nobody was sure what Motiga’s future plans would be.

Development appears to now be back on track, and in the past couple of days, the Motiga dev team has resurfaced providing more information on what lies ahead.

Players in the developmental Core beta testing group have continued to provide game feedback over the past few months, and this core group of testers will now be expanded. Normal dedicated beta testers will be invited to join this special invitation-only Core group who have been testing at what Motiga describe as a “more intimate level”.

This weekend is the last weekend that the Gigantic beta test will be open 24/7 and on 25 April the servers will be going down. Motiga now plans to hold scheduled beta events to help stress test the servers before moving into a new phase of testing.

Motiga appears to have got back on their feet which is great news for anyone following Gigantic’s development, so much so that they are once again recruiting staff following a spate of layoffs in December 2015.

Anyone wanting to take part in future beta weekend events should keep an eye on the official website.
