Nintendo's new online rewards programme 'My Nintendo' has gone live in the UK. The service's launch follows six months after the closure of Club Nintendo, and lets users earn points to unlock a variety of rewards, including free digital games, content and discounts.
There are three types of points available: Gold, Platinum and Miitomo, with different points required for different rewards. Grabbing a free digital copy of Super Mario 64 on Wii U, for example, requires 90 Gold points, while a 20% discount on Yoshi's Woolly World requires 600 Platinum points.
There are other rewards available, too, including an exclusive version of Picross based on the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Miitomo outfits, 3DS themes and free DLC.
To earn points players must complete 'Missions', which range from linking your social media accounts to your Nintendo account, fulfilling daily tasks in Miitomo, and purchasing digital items on the Nintendo eShop. Spending £50 on the eShop, for example, awards you with 80 Gold points, 10 shy of the amount needed to grab Super Mario 64.
Players can register for an account directly through the website, or log in using an existing Nintendo Network ID.
