Hitman's monthly release schedule is 'subject to change', warns IO - Hitman Episode Two – Sapienza for PS4 News
UPDATE: IO Interactive's community manager Travis Barbour has clarified that the message "wasn't intended to suggest anything", and that the developer's schedule is "still set for a new episode each month".
"'Subject to change' is a general phrase and wasn't intended to suggest anything," he wrote on Hitman Forum. "The aim and schedule are still set for a new episode each month, supported by the live content. We see Twitter as an informal channel, so when we have 'news', we'll make sure you know about it and that it's clearly marked as news."
ORIGINAL STORY: Hitman's monthly release schedule is "subject to change", developer IO Interactive has warned, despite earlier messaging from the studio promising a new episode each month.
The developer has also said previously that it is aiming to release each of the game's episodes "by the end of summer", suggesting that all seven could be released by the end of September.
But in a tweet posted on Saturday, IO said: "We're aiming for a monthly release per episode but this is subject to change."
Following the tweet, one user asked for a refund, to which IO pointed them in the direction of customer support. "Just let the creators know that they destroyed a beautiful franchise by shipping an unfinished product," the user replied.
IO's warning follows last month's news that the game's 'Elusive Targets' mode had been delayed to April. It had previously been due to arrive within 10 days of the game's launch.
Hitman's first episode launched on March 11, with the second due to arrive six weeks later on April 26. The third episode, which is set in Morocco, has previously been confirmed for May although an exact release date has yet to be announced. Further episodes will take players to Thailand, the United States and Japan.
