Everybody's Gone to the Rapture confirmed for PC - Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture for PC News

Acclaimed PS4 mystery Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is coming to the PC, developer The Chinese Room has confirmed.

The game's transition to PC seemed inevitable, with optimised AMD drivers for the game even being released.

Speaking to PC Gamer, creative director Dan Pinchbeck said the studio has always wanted to bring the game to PC.

"We always wanted to get it onto PC as it's kind of our home turf and we've got a lot of really passionate, supportive fans on PC," he said. "We kept making sure all the way through development that Sony knew that we could do it, and that we really wanted to do it. Around the time Rapture came out on PS4 there must have been an internal discussion at their end, as suddenly it became a possibility, so we jumped at the chance. It's a bit like coming home—we're absolutely chuffed to bits it's going to get a PC release."

Pinchbeck also says that the PC version will feature performance improvements such as an uncapped framerate and much higher resolutions – 4K images have been released. That said, the PS4 version was already visually impressive.

"To be honest with you, we were pushing the PS4 about as far as it will go graphically, so it's not like there's massive space for improvement anyway," he explained.

You can also expect a range of accessibility features such as a cross-hair for alleviating motion sickness, visual assist for hearing-impaired players, and a one-button implementation for tilt/event-triggering for users with mobility issues.
